I make each drum myself with the utmost respect and with prayer. Because of my shamanic practice I follow protocols when making drums which I consider to be sacred objects. I start the process the night before cleansing my work space and tools, and saying prayers while soaking the hides. Much like my protocols for healing work, I refrain from drinking alcohol 24 hours prior.  It ensures that I am rested, focused, and present.

When the next day begins it is important that I am in the right frame of mind. I follow the rule of never making anything when I am angry, disturbed, frustrated, or any other emotion that may be imbued into the things I create. By shutting off phones, television, and even music, I can offer what I describe as a clean and neutral drum, ready for you to meet, connect with, and make your own.

Most of the drums I offer are 18” elk hide drums on maple frames. The leather used for the beater is braintanned deer or elk.  They are then filled with Buffalo hair.  I leave many of my drums unembellished, ready for your own creative expression.  I have also combined my other passion in a small collection of beaded drums. I hope you enjoy them.  Below are examples of my work. 18” elk hide drums are $310. Beaded drums begun at $500.  Contact for pricing and availability.
